Playgroup
Activities
​We run a varied programme of daily activities here at the playgroup. We ask parents/carers to become aware of these activities and support them whenever possible. These are:
Monday
Cooking –If any parents have a simple, healthy dish that they would like to help the children to prepare, please speak to your child’s key worker.
Tuesday

Library – the children walk to Dalston CLR James Library every Tuesday.
All parents are required to participate for health and safety reasons. We require at least 3 parents per week, this is done on a rota basis.
Wednesday
P.E day – in addition to our daily physical and outdoor play, this is a session where we encourage the children to follow instructions while improving their gross motor skills and having fun.
Thursday
Messy Play –– the need to express themselves through the use of different materials and resources is one of the children’s basic needs. We have devised a day where we carry out these types of activities. Parents/carers are asked to provide appropriate/old clothing for this day. The children do have access to paint at other times during the week, while we try to ensure that they always wear an apron, the free-flow nature of our play area means that we cannot guarantee this.
Friday
Show and Tell – children are encouraged to bring in a favorite toy or object to share with everyone else during circle time.

Toys that are brought in on any other day of the week will be asked to taken back home.
